Application

Checking flows in a high-pressure cooling pipe.
The flow could not be stopped, no holes could be made in the pipe.
Flow readings needed to be measured and recorded for 24 hours.

Clamp-on ultrasonic probes

Solution

The Ultraflux Minisonic II portable clamp-on flowmeter was used, this allowed the flows to be measured without breaking into the pipe.

Equipment Specified

Ultraflux Minisonic II Portable flowmeter with clamp-on probes.
Minisonic II has a built-in data logger to record flows.
Data was downloaded via USB into Excel.
The internal battery allows the meter to run for up to 70 hours without external power.
